World’s Tallest Khanda Installed at Panj Piara Park – Anandpur Sahib

It was historic day today at Sri Anandpur Sahib. Over 81 feet Khanda (One of the most important symbol of Sikhism) which also is the tallest in the world so far was installed yesterday i.e. 13th June, 2015 at Panj Piara part, Anandpur Sahib.

This is a exiting and very important moment for the entire Sikh Community. There is happiness in the air in the holy town of Anandpur Sahib that will celebrate its 350th foundation day with pomp and splendor. Besides hosting PM Narendra Modi on June 19, Sikh community will come here to pay respect.

The 81-foot-tall stainless steel religious symbol was constructed by Satnam Fabrication. It will be dedicated Wednesday during Anandpur Sahib’s 350th Foundation Day celebrations.

The Khanda  is also the world’s heaviest version of the Sikh symbol which consists of a double edged sword and a circular ring encompassed within two curved swords (Kripans). The symbol forms the crux of Sikh doctrine which relies heavily on both taking care of the needy as well as protecting them from any harm.
