Steve Jobs quoted “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”
If you have found your passion early in life keep pursuing it even if you are making less or no money initially because that is one thing you love and will eventually make you big in life. More importantly, you always feel happy about doing something you love.
The second option is start loving your work and that is the only way you will feel motivated to do your job. I would like to present some really good ways to love your work.
1. Take Inspiration from others
There are always some people who really do a great job and always get appreciation from bosses. Talk to them, hear their story, what made them love their work so much that they always outperform others.
2. Innovate
Try to do things differently. Find new ways of doing things. Do more of those things that you like about your job. A change in perspective can change a lot of things. Your work is monotonous – there are favorable chances that you will get bored quite easily. To reduce that boredom, innovate.
3. Be Proactive
Always have a proactive approach at work. Rather than waiting for instructions from your seniors or bosses, make a plan for your entire week and then for your day just like a bucket list.
4. Keep yourself engaged
Even when you are done with your work, keep yourself engaged in other things. Read additional documents, papers to get more knowledge about your company/ work or do some introspection how you can do your work more effectively.
5. Take Initiatives
Lead initiatives – may be taking on an additional project. Organize events, parties at work.
