Sunil Jaglan, sarpanch of Bibipur village Jind district has recently started a campaign where he asked the inhabitants of the Haryana state to send in selfies with their daughters. No one knew at that time that this initiative would become a national revolution. In the last couple of days, #selfiewithdaughter have become really popular on social media worldwide.
The state of Haryana is known to have a notably low female-to-male ratio. Because female foeticide, education for women, and violation of girl child rights remain problems in India. All these problems that India faces today led Sunil Jaglan to start such a great initiative. PM Modi appreciated the sarpanch’s Selfie With Daughter initiative on the radio show “Man ki Baat”.
Here’s what PM Modi Tweeted :
In Haryana, a village Sarpanch initiated a initiative: PM
