William Shakespeare once said – What’s in a name?
Well, I have no idea what was the context when he said this. Because a lot of names that we have here have some deep correlation with some of the most erotic words. Others make no sense at all. In the end, all I can say is – a name signifies a lot of things – be it for a place or a person.
1. Dildo
It is on the island of Newfoundland, Canada. Though how this name came to be is unknown.
2. Fucking
Guessing what the favorite activity would be? It’s a village in Austria around 40 Kms from Salzburg. Surprisingly tourists used to steal the sign boards as a souvenir until 2005.
3. Intercourse
It’s a village in Lancaster County in Pennsylvania, US. It was earlier known as ‘Cross Keys’.
4. Hell
Now when someone says ‘Go to hell’ – this is where you should come. There are two places by the same name – Hell community of Livingstone county in Michigan, USA and a village in Norway.
5. Accident
It’s a part of Garrett County in Maryland, USA. The people who live here are called ‘Accidentals’.
6. No Name
No Name is a name of a place in the beautiful state of Colorado, USA.
7. Climax
Did you know why this place in Georgia, USA was named Climax?? I don’t know either. 😉 But what I know is that the population of this town according to 2010 census was 280.
8. Morón
The history of this town in Buenos Aires province of Argentina dates back to the 18th century.
9. Truth or Consequences
Also known as the spa city in the state of New Mexico, USA. The name was changed so it could host the Radio show with the same name.

Seriously!
It’s the longest officially recognized the name of a place in the Europe.
11. Nowhere Else
You don’t need to go anywhere else, expect the Nowhere Else city in Australia.
12. Batman
It’s a city in Turkey. The mayor of this city once decided to sue Christopher Nolan for making movies with the same name.
13. Why
That’s my question as well. Why? It’s a community in Arizona, USA.
14. Whynot
The origin of the name came from residents debating a title for their community in North Carolina, USA. A man asked, “Why not name the town Whynot and let’s go home?”
15. Condom
Don’t think in the direction you are thinking right now. The name of this town in France has nothing to do with the English word ‘Condom’. Because the french word for Condom is préservatif. 😉
