Nana Patekar has been in the news before for donating money to drought-hit farmers. The actor went ahead to help them and set up Naam Foundation to help the farmers and their families. This foundation will broadly serve two purposes:
1. Donating money to the farmers affected by drought. 2. The foundation also aims to provide employment opportunities for the youth in those villages.
Soon after the foundation was registered, people started making contributions to the fund. In particular, a tea seller in the area is willing to make a contribution of Rs 2000 for the cause. The foundation is started by Nana along with a Marathi actor Makrand Anaspure. The total amount collected in the fund is still unknown, but it is a very welcome initiative started by the veteran actor.
