Selling Price: $35 Million (INR 210 Crores) in 2007

The only reason HomeAway founder bought this domain was to keep it away from competitors like Expedia Inc.

 

3.PrivateJet.com
Selling Price: $30.18 Million (INR 180 Crores) in 2012

This domain currently redirects to a different site. May be the owners are planning to sell this domain. National Luxury Transportation LLC acquired it from Don’t Look Media Group.

 

4. Internet.com
Selling Price: $18 Million (INR 108 Crores) in 2009

WebMediaBrands sold this domain name to QuinStreet Inc.

 

5. 360.com
Selling Price: $17 Million (INR 102 Crores) in 2015

Qihoo, A Chinese Internet security company, bought 360.com. Zhou Hongyi, CEO of Qihoo.com, is also referred as domain gangster by Chinese media.

 

6. Insure.com
Selling Price: $16 Million (INR 96 Crores) in 2009

QuinStreet purchased this domain in 2009 in order to expand its financial services offering to its customers.

 

7. Fund.com
Selling Price: £9.9 Million (INR 90 Crores) in 2008

The domain is not live right now. Maybe the owners are planning to resell the domain.

 

8. Sex.com
Selling Price: $14 Million (INR 84 Crores) in 2014

The domain was bought by Clover Holdings from Escrow LLC.

 

9. Hotels.com
Selling Price: $11 Million (INR 66 Crores) in 2001

David Roche, President of Hotel.com Worldwide, said in an interview with BBC that he don’t remember the exact amount of the deal back then, but it was around $11 Million.

 

10. Porn.com
Selling Price: $9.5 Million (INR 57 Crores) in 2007

This is the largest all-cash domain transaction in the history reported by DNjournal.com.  Moniker.com brokered the sale to MXN Limited.

 

11.Porno.com
Selling Price: $8.8 Million (INR 53 Crores) in 2015

This is the 4th highest publicly reported all cash domain sale in the world according to DNjournal.com. Rick bought this domain from a college kid in 1997 for $42000

 

12. FB.com
Selling Price: $8.5 Million (INR 51 Crores) in 2010

Facebook paid 42 times more than the price they originally paid for registering facebook.com. The domain currently redirects users to facebook.com.

 

13. Business.com
Selling Price: $7.5 Million (INR 45 Crores) in 1999

The domain name was purchased from Mark Ostrofsky by Jake Winebaum, previously chairman of Walt Disney Group, for a whopping $7.5 Million.

 

14. Beer.com
Selling Price: $7 Million (INR 42 Crores) in 2004

The domain is on sale right now. This domain was originally registered when the internet started in early 1990’s. The domain was bought for $80,000 and then resold for $7 Million by the second owner.
