PM Modi is known for his oratory skills worldwide. This time around as well he proved his leadership skills with his strong pitch at The United Nations Sustainable Development Summit. Modi’s speech was aimed at bringing reforms around the world. His focus was on a number of topics including poverty eradication, response to terrorism, sustainable development and good relations among all nations.
With eyes of the entire world are on India, PM Modi also stated that it is only possible with strong relations between nations. He also pointed that there is much similarity between the path India has chosen for its development and United Nations goals for sustainable development.
We’ve listed the key points that Modi mentioned in his address to the United Nations.
1. A lot of changes required in United Nations Security Council.
2. Demand for safety and respect for everyone.
3. Poverty eradication is the top priority for Indian in years to come.
4. Indian goals are in line with UN goals for sustainable development.
5. Individual empowerment & entrepreneurial support.
6. Agriculture forms the major part of India’s GDP and it is important to support farmers.
7. Good relations among nations to tackle global issues.
8. The entire world is like a family according to our Indian philosophy.
9. Poverty remains a major global issue and must be tackled on priority.
At the end of his speech, he recited a shloka from Upanishads…
