Let me ask you a question as we begin this article. What have Indian advertisements taught you? Any guesses. The answer from most of you would be – use colgate in your food when you run out of actual salt because usme namak hai, use axe deodorant because it’s the only way to get girls, only fairness creams can get you a job not your qualification and a lot of other bullshit things which makes no sense at all.
I am not saying that all advertisements are bad. Some are good, really good, but there are very few such ads. And, also do not doubt the creative minds behind these advertisements. If they can sell their stuff for decades with such bullshit ads, then they can sell anything to us.
But, it’s hight time that these creative geniuses change the way they create ads. Indian consumer is getting smarter every day.
