Following the ban on India’s favorite snack on June 5, 2015, people expressed their anger towards the ban on Maggi. Days later, people took the social media by storm uploading pictures, videos, selfies showing their love for Maggi. For a bachelor living away from home, the news is as bad as watching India lose the World Cup final (well, almost).
Our wishes finally came true after Bombay hight court lifted the ban on Maggi on August 13. Soon after the ban was lifted, Nestle introduced a series of Maggi #wemissyoutoo commercials expressing how much they missed us.
We again got a reason to rejoice. With all that love, I would like to share some situations where everyone missed their favorite snack.
1. Parents out of town
A lot of times our parents go out either for a vacation or to a relatives place. Though they arrange for your food. Still you take that opportunity to have Maggi for days that your family is out of town. During that time, you experiment with different types of Maggi variants.
2. Friends unexpected visit
Quite often, your friends bump into your house without prior notice. Maggi and Coke are the only options to please them. I remember my friends used to say this a lot, “Bhai maggi mein pyaz zyada dalna aur masala extra kar dena.”
3.Sunday Afternoon
Sunday is a day when nobody wants to cook. It’s a day to balance out all that hard work done during the week. There are only two options left – either to order food from a restaurant or cook a maggi. I’d always prefer the latter.
4. Office break
I have often seen in India that almost every office has favorite maggi wala located at a walking distance from the office. And, this is the place for your evening snacks. A cup of tea and a Maggi to revive your day.
5. Friends meetup
When friends meet either they drink, smoke or they eat maggi. This situation is specific to boys. When girls meet they do different things which include and not limited to complaining about boyfriends, sharing beauty tips etc. But Maggi is common in both.
6. Quick hunger
That’s why Maggi is known as a 2-minute-noodle. Honestly, it never took me two minutes to prepare a Maggi but it is a perfect snack to satisfy your quick hunger. Remember the times, when you would get late for exams and say, “jaldi kar yaar, chal maggi bana de fatafat.”
7. Superior cooking skills
Every time you wanted to impress your girlfriend to show your superior cooking skills. You cooked maggi. Don’t say no now.
After all it’s humari maggi.
