The youngest ever Noble Peace prize winner Malala Yousafzai who is a human rights activist for women empowerment and more importantly education for women. She rose to prominence after she opposed Taliban’s view of no education for girls in the swat valley where she lived. As a result, on the afternoon of 9th October 2012 she was shot in the forehead by Taliban gunmen. She was targeted for speaking for the education of girls in swat valley.
Soon after recovering from her injuries she actively started talking about women education, empowerment, and other global issues. The reason she is doing this because her story is a story of millions of girls around the world. In her first speech at the UN after the terrorist attack she said “The terrorists thought they would change my aims and stop my ambitions, but nothing changed in my life except this: weakness, fear, and hopelessness died.”
A true inspiration and hero of our generation. Can’t wait to see this documentary.
