To be honest, after the year 2005, I have stopped counting as to how many times I have seen this movie. Without a second thought, I can say that everyone love this movie. A name which is synonymous with class, cult, laughter has ruled the Bollywood film industry for last 21 years. Undoubtedly, this is one of the finest directions by Rajkumar Santoshi. A movie that has been a trendsetter in the genre of slapstick comedy.
Over the last couple of days, I was trying to think of reasons to hate Andaz Apna Apna. All I could do was to find reasons why we can’t hate this cult classic.
Get ready to travel back in time.
1. Because of its timeless beauty of dialogues that we still use in our day to day conversations.
2. Because Salman’s overacting in the movie is at its best and we love him for that. Sorry Sallu Bhai bura mat manna.
3. Because it is the fourth highest rated Indian movie on IMDB after Anand, Baahubali: The Beginning and Vishwaroopam.
4. Because we love Ram Gopal & Shyam Gopal Bajaj so much that we have recited this dialogue at least a million times – ‘Mein Teja hoon, mark idhar hai’.
5. Because Crime Master Gogo is our most loved villain till date.
6. Because it won our hearts despite being a failure at box office.
7. Because sequel of this movie is still not released and we all are desperately waiting for that.
8. Because each character of the movie is so well written and performed. I am pretty sure you all fondly remember the characters of Robert, Bhalla, Crime Master Gogo, Murli Manohar (Aamir Khan’s father), Bhopali (Salman Khan’s father), Sevaram (Lodge Owner), Babulal Namak haram… LOL … and so on.
9. Because this was Salman Khan & Aamir Khan’s last movie together. Till date, we await their next onscreen presence. Hopefully, our wish comes true with Andaz Apna Apna 2.
