All credit goes to Mysuru Police which created a 160 Km signal free corridor to reduce the time to transport a liver required for a crucial transplant operation. As a result of the efforts, the liver was ferried in a record time of 2 hours 15 minutes. It usually takes about 4 hours to cover the same distance.
The liver was transferred from BGS Apollo Hospital, Kuvempunagar, Mysuru to Apollo Hospital on Bannerghatta Road in Bengaluru.
The donor 53-year-old Geeta was declared brain dead following an accident on Tuesday this week and her family then decided to donate her body parts. The person who it was donated to had been waiting for a liver transplant for last 6 months.
Thanks to the Mysore Police that the patient found a match and will be able to recover soon.
