Indian Sand Artist Pays Tribute To Aylan Kurdi

Indian sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a sculpture on Puri beach on Friday of the young Syrian child Aylan Kurdi, who washed up on the Turkish shore on last Wednesday.

Aylan Kurdi and his family, like many others, fled the civil war in Syria to seek asylum in Europe. En route, their rubber boat capsized leading to at least 12 deaths. There are increasing incidents of people who are leaving Syria because of the civil war and taking refuge in nearby countries of Europe. More than 2000 migrants have died fleeing to Europe by Sea. #humanitywashedashore
