India To Return The Favor To Pakistan. Will Send Ramzan As ‘Return Gift’ For Geeta

While most of us are celebrating Geeta’s return to India after 15 years and appreciating this as a great gesture from Pakistan, India has planned to a return the favor in the form of a 15-year-old boy Mohammad Ramzan who crossed the border in 2011.

Razaman separated from his family at the age of 10 when his father took him to Bangladesh and remarried. After repeated incidents of torture by his stepmother, he fled the place in 2011 in the hope of meeting his biological mother in Pakistan.

He was finally spotted by Bhopal railway police in September 2013 and has been living in a shelter home, run by Childline, since then. Ramzan’s application to find his family in Pakistan had earlier been rejected by Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stating that there is no documentary evidence to prove his Pakistani citizenship.

In September this year, a CA student from Bhopal traced Ramzan’s family in Pakistan via Social Media but all efforts to send him back again failed. However with return of Geeta to India, PMO has reopened the case files of Ramzan and will make sure that Ramzan unites with his mother Razia Begum soon.
