Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan at an event organized by The Indian Express Group made a statement about intolerance in the country. He said that his wife Kiran Rao even suggested that they moved out of the country because of the growing ‘Intolerance’ in the country. As soon as Aamir Khan finished speaking at the event, his comments met with huge public outcry and ire on all platforms including Facebook and Twitter.
But that’s when it got really wrong. There’s a person named , a senior reporter at The Information whose twitter handle is @amir. And, obviously, he is not one of Bollywood’s biggest superstars. He had no idea what is he going to face with that twitter name.
Within seconds, people who he had no connection with, started to spread a lot of hatred for him:
