Paresh Rawal is undoubtedly one of the finest actors in Indian cinema. With no formal education in acting and theatre, he has proved that if you pursue anything with passion and dedication, nobody can stop you from achieving it.
The actor who wooed the audiences with his superior acting skills, sometimes as a villain, sometimes as a comedian, only shows his versatility as an actor. His life is a perfect example of commitment and devotion which is clearly visible by the number of Filmfare and National awards he’s won.
He is also credited for his role in uplifting the status of character actors in mainstream Hindi cinema. Without any further delay, let’s look at some interesting facts from his life.
1. He was a naughty child. Taking pangas with other students, entertaining the class with his acting skills, teasing girls during the class used to be his daily activities during school.
2. In spite of being rejected an entry to a nearby theatre so many times, he persisted and finally won a ticket to the open air competition.
3. When most of the students, rather families of students were deciding their kids future life he was busy preparing for his first play. He started doing theatre when he was just 15 years old.
4. During his early years of theatre, he took inspiration actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri.
5. You can still find him performing at Bhaidas Auditorium, Mumbai. He credits his entire life to Bhaidas Auditorium because that is the place which got him all the fame and money.
6. He got a vocational job at Bank of Baroda for one and a half months but he ran from that place in just 3 days.
7. He was offered the role of Mr.Khosla in Dibakar Banerjee’s debut film Khosla Ka Ghosla!(2006), but turned it down. The role later went to Anupam Kher.
