Never say die attitude is what defines one of the most powerful batsmen in the Indian cricketing history – Yuvraj Singh. Every inch of Yuvi’s life speaks volumes about his fighting spirit. Whether it was U-14 skating championship or it was U-19 Cricket world cup 2000, whether it was ICC WC 2011 or it was his battle with cancer. He came out stronger every time.
Now without any further delay let’s take a look at some of the unknown facts from the life.
1. In the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, in India’s match against Ireland, he became the first player to take 5 Wickets and score 50 runs in a World Cup match.
2. A lot of you may not know, but braveheart Yuvi has already made an entry into Bollywood film industry. He gave voiceover in an animated movie Jumbo.
3. He gave his first autograph at an age of 17. Unlike, most of us who were struggling to write their own signature.
4. After 2011 world cup, He became the first all-rounder to score 300 plus runs and to take 15 wickets in a single World Cup.
5. Despite having won National U-14 Roller Skating Championship, his father never wanted him to take up skating as a career. His father Yograj Singh didn’t think skating was a lucrative career option in India back then and decided to make his son a cricketer.
6. The upcoming animated full-length feature film Captain India features Yuvraj Singh as the main protagonist.
7. India won only 4 matches against Australia in ICC tournaments from 2000 to 2014. In all these games Yuvraj was the common hero. Isn’t that amazing?
8. After the win against Australia in the World Cup: Yuvraj could have died of a heart attack back then and no one would have known he had cancer.
