If there is one place in this world which can get you money and fame, it is BOLLYWOOD. I am sure, you all would agree. Right? At least, this is what most of our television actors think as a next step to popularity and recognition. While, a lot of them may not have made it successfully to the world’s largest film industry but, there are some who not only seamlessly transitioned but made it big in the Bollywood.
Let’s look at these actors who transitioned from TV to Bollywood.
1. Shahrukh Khan
As everyone would know it by now. King khan first acted on the small screen with TV serials like Fauji and Circus and the rest is history.
2. Vidya Balan
She is amongst one of the most influential female actors in India today. She started her career at an early age of 17 with Humpanch. It is only after 10 years she got a break in Bollywood with movie Parineeta and since then, there was no looking back.
3. Aditya Roy Kapur
Aditya rose to fame only after the movie Aashiqui 2. He appeared his a couple of movies before. He started his career as a VJ for channel V.
4. Prachi Desai
She became popular with TV serial Kasam Se which helped her enter Jhalak Dikhla Ja and then, straight to Bollywood with movie Rock On.
5. Sushant Singh Rajput
He started his career in Bollywood with movie Kai Po Che following the success of daily soap Pavitra Rishta. Sushant later appeared in super hit Bollywood movies like PK, Detective Byomkesy Bakshy.
6. Irrfan Khan
Can you believe that an actor who faked his certificates for getting admission to the National School of Drama would one day be part of the third-highest-grossing movie in the world? By the way, the actor began his TV career with Chandrakanta.
7. R. Madhavan
Before appearing in hit films like RHTDM, 3 Idiots, Tanu Weds Manu he was part of TV series Banegi Apni Baat.
8. Ayushmaan Khurana
The talented Ayushmaan rose to fame with MTV Roadies Season 2. He made his Bollywood debut with the movie Vicky Donor which became a super hit.
8. Rajeev Khandelwal
He appeared in a lot of TV shows like Time Bomb 9/11, Kahin To Hoga, Left Right Left etc. before hitting the big screen. He started his Bollywood career with critically acclaimed movie Aamir.
9. Manish Paul
Though Manish has not had a big success in movies, but he continues to rule the television world as a host and actor in a lot of reality shows. His first Bollywood movie was Mickey Virus.
10. Pulkit Samrat
Pulkit is best known for his character as Lakshya Virani in the popular show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. he successfully transitioned to Bollywood with movies like Bittoo Boss and Fukrey.
11. Pankaj Kapoor
Do I need to give an introduction? I am sure, not. He became a household name through TV series Karamchand and Office Office.
12. Hansika Motwani
As a child, Hansika first appeared in TV serial Shaka Laka Boom Boom. Later she acted in a number of TV shows including Kyunki Saas. She got her big break into Bollywood with Himesh Rashmiya’s film Aap Ka Suroor.
13. Ram Kapoor
Popular for his role in TV shows like Kasam Se and Bade Achhe Lagte Hein, Ram Kapoor has been a prominent part of hit Bollywood movies like Student of the Year, Mere dad Ki Maruti etc.
14. Kapil Sharma
Kapil Sharma is the recent entrant in the list with his debut movie Kis Kis Ko Pyar Karun released last month.
15. Rajpal Yadav
Rajpal Yadav has made his presence felt with his eccentric and quirky comedy. But before debuting on Big Screen, he acted in a TV show called Mungeri Ke Bhai Naurangilal.
